Become a PPIF Junior Council Member

If you are between the ages of 18-25, graduated from high school and either a young professional or college student who is passionate about paying it forward and giving back, then come join us!

Each year, we search for individuals with special skills, unique talents and the passion to make a difference.

If you are under 18 years old and still in high school, please sign up to receive updates and notifications for our PPIF Youth Council that will be available for students 13-18 years of age.

The PPIF Junior Council is an exciting opportunity for individuals to become empowered and developed into leaders of tomorrow.

The PPIF Junior Council will be comprised of 9 diverse and bright individuals from around NYC that will serve as diplomats that believe in paying it forward and making a positive impact in their communities.

The PPIF Junior Council will have several important tasks to work together on including but not limited to helping choose potential recipients to receive a grant for their initiatives to pay it forward in NYC, nominating potential individuals who may be worthy of receiving recognition for their efforts to help others plus will be involved in several other important decision making efforts.

Potential PPIF Junior Council will be selected through a competitive application process based on their own special skills, unique talents and passion to make a difference. All applicants will be reviewed by several members of our internal team dedicated to choosing the best individuals who represent our mission and vision of paying it forward.

There will be 4 main several phases of the interview process:

  1. Initial Application of Interest
  2. Full Application with Video Supplement and references (letters)
  3. In-person, face to face Interview
  4. Final decision by our Internal Team
1. Who is eligible to apply for the board?

PPIF Junior Council is open to young professionals and college students between the ages of 18-25 who believe and dedicate their lives to paying it forward in NYC by using their unique skills and special talents to make a difference. If 18 years of age, then you must be graduated or hold a GED from high school.

If you are 18 years of age and still in high school, then please sign up to receive updates and notifications for our PPIF Youth Council that will be available for students 13-18 years of age.

2. Is there a GPA or major requirement?

Absolutely NOT! We are looking for individuals who believe and dedicate their lives to making a difference and giving back. So, whether you are book smart, street smart or some other kind of smart… it doesn’t matter to us as long as you care about helping others and making a positive impact. We are looking for people from all different backgrounds and walks of life.

3. What makes me a good candidate?

We are looking for individuals who have passion and genuinely care about others and the well being of their community. We want to especially hear from people who can share their special skills, unique talents and ideas to the PPIF Junior Council as there is never one right way to pay it forward and make a difference.

The diverse group that we are looking for will truly represent as many people possible and ensure that no matter who you are or what your background is, everyone can pay it forward and can make a difference!

4. What is the process of becoming a PPIF Junior Council member?

There will be 4 main phases of the interview process:

  1. Initial Application of Interest
  2. Full Application with Video Submission and 3 references (letters)
  3. In-person, face to face Interview
  4. Final decision by our Internal Team (announced via Facebook and/or Twitter)
5. Does it cost anything to be a member of the PPIF Junior Council?

There is no cost associated with becoming a member of the PPIF Junior Council.

All travel and meal expenses of PPIF Junior Council members will be covered for all meetings initiated by the Project Pay It Forward program of Student Body of America Association that are directly relative to the PPIF Junior Council.

PPIF Junior Council members will not be compensated for their time other than through expense reimbursement that is previously mentioned.
